This was to be examined how wooden components have to be designed to withstand external loads and at the same time to take the bending behavior into account. The developed component consists of two wooden sticks, which are connected by a hinge that allows different angles.
Rhinoceros/ Grasshopper plugins Kangaroo Octopus and Karamba were combined for the design workflow. This resulted in an optimization algorithm that takes a structural analysis into account for each iteration.
